SITUATION REPORT
Football is the real story here: Pullman's in full preseason cope mode, celebrating a pick-six like it's a national championship because the Cougars are genuinely hoping to hit 5.5 wins in the revamped Pac-12. That's not ambition, that's resignation. Meanwhile, basketball gets to live in that blissful August limbo where nothing's gone wrong yet and the Big 12 transition still feels like it could be the answer—but both programs are basically running the same playbook: pray the conference change fixes everything, keep your head down, and hope September doesn't turn it all into a dumpster fire.

“Similarly this was the first draft I remember when no Cougs were drafted. Several former Cougs who transferred got drafted. It’s f**king sad! I’m still as diehard loyal to my Alma mater as I was when we were winning the PAC 10. Go Cougs!”

“I'm usually the "Cougs by 50" guy, but these past few years have made me a bit timid. We have all the pieces to be special, but we still have a 1st time head coach, first year OC ( I know he was co-oc last year). We also have one of the toughest non-con schedules in the nation. A lot of great pieces came in, but we also lost some pieces as well. I think we will be in the conference title hunt, but im sure the new pac teams will be amped this season, so we will get everyones best shot.”
